Nail Mogul Feature on KHOU Channel 11 Houston,Tx

I was so surprised and feeling very blessed when Shern-Min Chow called the salon on morning asking questions regarding Nail trends. I thought at first that it was just as usual a client that is new to all of the designs that we offer at Nail Mogul. So as usual I am just answering questions.  And then after all of the questions she says 'okay, my name is Shern-Min Chow I am calling from channel 11 news and would like to come into the salon and interview regarding nail trends"....LOL.. All I heard was channel 11 and nail trends...LMBO.. I was like sure when so she came in the very next day and it aired a week later. Here is the link below.  Check me out!!!.. Oh yea she also interviewed some clients at Isle Pedi spa so it's a combo of them and me. But, mostly me...Lol...

Nail Mogul goes to New York Working with DeborahLippman

I have been so lucky and blessed to be asked to come to New York and work with DeborahLippman during New York's Fashion Week in 2011. I learned so much about backstage preparations. How exciting and blood rushing it is. This is me and Deborah at the last show we worked seven days straight.  She is such a amazing and wonderful women!!..

We had a team lead who done a amazing job assigning Models to use making sure every models nails where done and we finished on time.  Yeeeah Ellen!!!.. When you work NY FashionWeek you have something called a call time. That's the time you need to be there to start working.  Make-up, Hair and Nails we are all there 2-3 hours before the show starts. We have to get the models beautiful before they get dressed so we are pressed for time.

When the models start to roll in your thinking WOW they are all so tall and beautiful in many different ways. But, once the make-up artist and hair styles start working on their looks. At the end they all look the same you can't tell them apart. The make-up artist and hair stylist teams are amazing at what they do to make all the models look the same. And this has to be a great feeling for the designer to see their vision come to life.

This is how the venue looks and the beginning quiet and clean very peaceful.  At the end it's people everywhere and a mess...LOL

The venue below is at another location, but those are some of the make-up artist and hair stylist setting up their location before the models start to roll in.

As a Nail Technician you will be on the floor maybe even under a table painting nails or doing designs. Some models are very friendly and are use to what needs to be done. Others, act like they are mad to be there and will not corporate. And then thats when you will have to go and get your team lead. To have someone go over and talk with the model.

I couldn't understand why a model would even act that way.  But, then you have to think and remind yourself. She looks older, but she maybe only 15 or 16 years old and away from home. Probably hasn't seen her family in awhile and has had her hair and make-up done over so many times today. That she maybe just a tad bit irritated.  I know you may still think she know what she signed up for and is getting paid. Yes that is all true, but they are still kids and everyone is entitled to get a little tired and irritated at work. I have a posted few pictures that you can see of me in New York on the town!!!...LOL
